Welcome!
Maria was born and raised in Mexico City. She has always taken an interest in art and creative problem-solving which resulted in her pursuit of a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design.
She moved to the United States with her husband and children in 2009, which gave her the great opportunity to study different Media and Art at a community college. She was able to learn new skills, refine her craft, and perfect her technique to create the art she now shares with you!
She began creating upcycled art, using plastic bags, cardboard and newspaper to create her Alebrijes. She has managed to become a sustainable artist that is looking to make a difference in how art is viewed as well as her overall impact in the world around her.
Art, to her, is a form of expressing her feelings and ideas; it shows the energy that she feels and she loves sharing it with others.
She enjoys realism and fantasy to create one-of-a-kind pieces that are sure to resonate with a far-and-wide audience.
"I hope you enjoy it just as much as I do. Stay a while, look around, and if you have any questions please reach out!"
Sincerely,
Maria
